Heh, this is the first 2D Design class assignment I've posted. It's a weird class, mostly the focus is on art techniques but this time we were told to make a HUD. I just kind of pulled mine out of the air, it doesn't make much sense. Also the girl is very stylized and not very Meso American, I know, I know. Also I was pressed for time so her jewelry, skirt thing, etc, aren't really finished, and in addition to that I used a previous unfinished girl as a base for her, so this was very lazy. Good building practice, though, I guess? I used this as a reference.
Yeah, so... that's about it.
EDIT: And here's
Aww, I wish you could be in this class too!
Thank you so much!
Ahhh thank you! Sometimes I almost want to not put so much effort in so I don't stand out, but then I can't help but keep adding stuff...
Yours is really awesome too! You should post at least your figure, because I really love the way you painted it.
Woah, this is really interesting! I'm not even sure where to start complimenting xD It's definitely a lot different than your usual stuff! I like the colors the best, especially in her clothes. The bright turquoise and gold look great. And the detail in the rocks and sky are fantastic. Also that color gradient in the sky is very cool! Very impressive, I have no idea how to do any of this stuff ^_^'
Haha, thank you for all the compliments!
I really like bright turquoise with other colors. Yeah! I believe that skys should pretty much always have gradients...
Ah, I just learn from looking at stuff and thinking about how light and crap would work. And sometimes I find that I know more than I think I do when I actually start drawing... aaaand sometimes it's the opposite.
That's so cool! So, did you draw the rocks and everything from scratch? I wondered if maybe you used a base or a texture or something to help.
I used a picture as a reference but other than that it's from scratch. I presented it today, people liked it!
A lot better than anything I ever drew in that class..
You shouldn't put yourself down so much! It's good, a lot better than anything I could make! ~Pokes and Licks from Kiba
